Red Meranti deck

We built this Japanese style deck for an engineer. It has no mitered corners on the decking, the decking itself is an exotic hardwood called Red Meranti, and we stained the decking in a natural hardwood stain color. The railing is cedar, also stained in the same natural color. It reminds us of Frank Lloyd Wright’s , “Falling water, ” in that it resembles a gentle waterfall cascading down the hill. Its a very beautiful and interesting deck and will be a showcase of his back yard once his landscaping is finished.
