We worked as a sub contractor for a general contractor on this project. The deck was engineered so that there didn’t need to be cross bracing between the posts. This was accomplished by sinking the main posts that supported the beams down into concrete 4′ deep. This is a very strong deck, as solid as they come. It has 6×12 beams, 2×12 joists, and 2′ footings. If the cedar decking is maintained properly, this deck will truly last a lifetime!
