Ipe deck and railing

This is a new ipe deck we built. Ipe is a tropical hardwood pronounced EE-Pay. It is very hard, heavy, dense, and lasts a long time. We used ipe for the railing and used aluminum balusters in black. We picture frame the border of the deck and use butt joints in the field for a nice hardwood floor type of look. Because ipe is so dense, it doesn’t hold a stain very well. So this customer choose to just leave the decking un stained or raw. It will just grey to a natural patina color over the first year which is totally fine, it will still last very long. This is a beautiful deck for a beautiful house!
