Kekatong deck with Chippendale railing

This is a truly unique deck with nice custom features. The decking is an exotic hardwood called kekatong, it is very hard and similar to a more common hardwood called ipe. The railing is an old world style originally designed by a man named Chippendale, which is where the style gets its name. We used cedar for the railing and stained both the decking and railing in Messmer’s natural hardwood stain. We also installed Trex stair riser lights on the stairs for a nice touch and added safety. This is a deck that is sure to wow visitors.
