This customer’s original deck had lots of steep stairs and not much usable space. They were concerned about their children’s safety with all the places to fall. So we designed a new deck for them that maximized the usable level area and minimized the amount of stairs. We also engineered the framing on one end for placement of a hot tub. The decking material is made by Timbertech, it is an all PVC deck board called XLM in the color of River rock. The railing is Timbertech’s Builder rail, it has galvanized powder coated steel balusters and uses grey composite twin finish planks for the top rail. We like this style of railing because it has a nice contrast between the composite and black metal as well as provides a surface to set drinks or other items.
