This is one of the nicest types of fence we build. It is dual sided meaning there is no “bad” side, each side is identical. On this fence we used copper post caps for a distinctive look and a nice pergola over each gate. This was the envy of the neighborhood for fences as everyone else had very plain fences built by the same company that built the neighborhood. As a matter of fact, the other fences in this neighborhood were built with standard doug fir rails instead of pressure treated lumber. It is surprising how often companies, even big ones with local name recognition in the Portland area, use standard Doug Fir instead of longer lasting pressure treated lumber for fence rails. We will only do that in cases where it is requested because of a customer preference on appearance. Some companies won’t use pressure treated rails at all because they make more money that way. At Deck Masters, we don’t understand that logic, we want to walk away from every job knowing we used the best methods and materials available.
